Metric Fasteners
DIN and ISO standards regulate the dimensions of metric fasteners in the International System that continental Europe has as a reference.
To define any bolt, washer or nut in this system, the following parameters must be marked:
[standard] [thread diameter]-(pitch)x(length) [material] [coating]
The thread pitch is usually omitted if it is coarse and marked if it is fine, while the length is not shown for nuts or washers.
Ejemplo:
DIN 931 M8x80 gr. 8.8 hot-dip galvanized ISO 10684
(Hex head screw partially threaded, metric 8 with normalized coarse pitch and length of 80mm, carbon steel grade 8.8 with coating hot-dip galvanized according to ISO 10684)
