CAE Simulations

As experts in computational simulations, Atreydes calculates machines and structures by means of dedicated software, providing our customers with optimized mechanical components according to their requirements, minimizing the material needed and thus reducing their costs.
CAE simulations are widespread in industry, so that mechanical design is not understood today without this type of computational calculation. Generally, design loads are applied to a significant geometry of the elements to be tested, assigning the material properties. Software checks whether these loads exceed the resistant restrictions of the material with the possibility to modify the geometry, material properties and load configurations to optimize the models.
These calculation programs also offer solutions for complex geometry problems where analytic assessments would be expensive in time and cost. Some of these cases are:
Natural frequencies and vibration modes
Fatigue
Thermic analyses
CAE 2
Flange CAE Simulation

CAE Meshing

Based on Finite Element Analysis (FEA), these simulations discretize the geometry into smaller parts (mesh), calculating the balance equations for each of these elements, from load application surfaces to the supports. There are three main kind of elements:
Beam
Single-dimension elements. They are line-shaped and used to mesh structural beams and columns. The section assigned to this beam element is normally constant as well as the results for this section in each length of the beam. They have a low computational cost and level of detail.
Shell
2D elements, usually triangles and rectangles which adapt to surfaces. They are used on thin plates and sheets. Many times, for simulations with these mechanical components, it is necessary redesign the CAD models only with surfaces, since the thickness is assigned to shell elements in a different stage. This allows to decrease computational times. They have a medium computational cost and level of detail.
Solid
3D elements. They generally mesh a three-dimensional geometry with tetrahedrons and hexahedrons. If these elements distort too much to adapt to demanding geometries, computations can lead to errors, providing non-realistic solutions for our simulation. They have a high computational cost and level of detail.

Our Added Value

Our high added value offers the best solution for our customers, combining different technical areas, computer applications and technologies to optimize their final products.
This kind of simulations defines the interaction between a fluid and solid elements, machines and structures. We could say that they complement CAE simulations, since they estimate the fluid loads accurately. These loads can be considered later for CAE computations.
